The Brother Who Makes All the Difference
There are people whose influence shapes us in ways we can never fully express. For me, that person is Cardinal—my darling big brother. Today, as I walk down the aisle, I am reminded of the countless ways he has impacted my life, and I am forever grateful for his presence on this special day.
Dr. Cardo has been a constant in my life, loving my siblings and me with unwavering dedication. Aside from our parents, he has known me the longest, and his support has been a guiding light throughout my journey. He is the reason I dared to dream of leaving Nigeria for a better life—a decision that has changed the course of my life in the most beautiful way.
Though he often puts on a tough exterior, beneath it all lies a kindhearted soul. He always means well, even when his love comes in the form of firm guidance. I often tell people that I can’t afford to live carelessly because I have a brother like him—one who sets a high standard and keeps me in check.
In many ways, big bro, you have played the role of a parent, stepping in to protect, provide, and make life easy for everyone, often at your own expense. You have worn the “parent” pants on numerous occasions, balancing discipline with an unyielding love that has shaped who I am today.
As I get married to Ayo, I realise just how much of this day is possible because of your trust in me. Your belief in my ability to make my own decisions not only empowered me but also helped influence our dad’s approval.
I love you, big brother, more than words can express. Thank you for everything you’ve done and keep doing, for being the brother who makes all the difference. Ayo and I are grateful for you. God bless you always.
